Herbert and Bridget were/are so good. Herbert was recommended to me by several colleagues many years ago. I drove by on 4/20/26, and the business looks closed. There were some leaves piled up, a few weeds growing, only two older cars in the parking lot, the potted plant is dry and dead.

My go to for a decade, unfortunately I fear the worst. It's been closed since before the holidays and the lot is emptied out. No answer on the phone through last month (February). Now the phone number no longer works at all. Likely closed for good, or Herbert is on an very extended vacation. The review from Mary is inaccurate as far as I can tell. The shop isn't open, no one taking calls. Hope Herbert is ok, awesome and very fair mechanic.

I called a few weeks ago and the gentleman I spoke with was extremely rude and condescending. I asked for a quote to fix a part and he said basically "it doesn't work like that" and while making me feel dumb in the process. He hung up abruptly because he needed to help a customer and said he would call right back and never did. Very disappointing experience as a potential customer

He has been maintaining my 2003 SLK32 for several years. A Mercedes dealership nearby wanted to charge 5k in repairs after going to them for a simple service A. They provided pics and video to support their insistance on wanting my approval for these repairs on a low mileage car that drove and operated beautifully. I went to Herbert at German Motor Car Services for a second opinion. Turned out the pics/vid weren't even of my car. He went through each item and showed that, apart from minor things, nothing required repair. Finally an honest repair shop. He and his team have done more complicated work for me but at a fraction of the expected price and often on the spot. I will never take my car to anyone but him. Even after losing my home in the Palisades and now driving a much farther distance after resettling elsewhere. He is a good honest man and I hope he lives forever so the favorite car of my collection (it's so sentimental to me) will live on forever too.

Herbert is the most honest man that I ever met. I took my car there years ago and moved away, but I will never forget how much he helped me and how honest and professinal that he was. I am glad to ssee that alfter all of these years that he is still there.
